About Us
A practitioner fluent in two worlds the business that commissions a capital project, and the discipline that delivers it.
Carrie Chan founded Strategy to Built to close a gap she had watched cost clients dearly across a career spanning both — the space between a business's intent and the asset finally built to serve it.
The delivery side.
Over more than two decades in the built environment, [Name] delivered capital projects across APAC — for listed property developers, government, and public bodies. Her work ranged from a US$780 million hotel-casino development to a 70-hectare mixed-use township, a US$260 million data centre, and heritage regeneration. She oversaw works-package contracts totalling US$218 million as a senior project manager in a design-and-build contractor, secured a 15% value-engineering saving on a US$42.3 million façade package, and drove a master-plan approval through in eight months. Time and again she watched the same failure — an incomplete brief surfacing too late, and the ballooning fees, mid-construction variations, blown budgets, and stalled revenue that followed. She could see the cause; but as the delivery professional, it wasn't her place to question how the client ran its business. She could only build what was asked.
The business side.
That changed when she moved to the other side of the table — founding and leading a deep-tech company as CEO, raising USD 18 million to Series B and building a team of 22 across two markets. Now the capital decisions were hers, tied directly to the P&L and the next business objective. She instituted what her years of delivery had taught her: de-risk the project from the start, with a complete, reconciled brief before design begins.
But she found her own operations team didn't know where to start — willing, but unsure how to contribute to something none of them had done before. So she built the method: Listen, Reconcile, Translate — working the team through it until, before the contractor ever came on board, everyone was aligned on what would be built and why.
Why it matters to you.
Most advisors know the build or the business. [Name] has carried both — the P&L of an owner and the delivery record of a practitioner. That dual fluency is what lets her translate what your business needs into what can actually be built, and align your people around it before the expensive decisions are made.
